Erasmus Scholarship Fund - Talent without borders
Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is a cosmopolitan institution. Each day the lecture halls at Woudestein and Hoboken are full of students from more than 110 countries all around the world—at least 3,000 foreign students, a number that is growing each year. And we’re happy to have them here, especially the top-drawer students. However, the high tuition fees mean that studying in the Netherlands is just not possible for some talented students. Because they can’t arrange to have their
studies financed, they have to depend entirely on financial aid.
It’s for these talented students that the Erasmus Scholarship Fund was set up in February 2009. It’s a fund that gives talented young people who hail from outside the EU the chance, just like you had, to study in Rotterdam. Your alma mater welcomes these promising students with open arms and, thanks to donations from people like you, is glad to be able to give them a leg up financially—so we’re counting on you to pitch in.
The Erasmus Scholarship Fund got going with grants, donations, and the proceeds from the sale of various publications. But it’s still at the fledgling stage, and to make a real go of it we sorely need the support of alumni like you.
