Carrousel: short but sweet
Restaurant the Carrousel in the L-building on Woudestein campus is to undergo a change in spring 2011. A part of the restaurant will be trimmed off its northerly side, to make room for the new semi-sunken car park. While works are on-going, you can still go there for a tasty meal, but fewer seats will be available.
The building works are in their preparatory stages and will commence in April 2011. All being well, the reconstruction should be finished before the summer holidays of 2011.
The Carrousel will be about 7 m shorter. The reduced number of seats will be somewhat compensated by positioning tables and chairs more efficiently. The reconstruction works will take place behind a temporary wall. Once the car park has been completed (around the middle of 2013), the Carrousel will be given a new façade and will be located right on Erasmus Plaza.
Heavy building works such as demolition and pile-driving will be carried out outside opening hours whenever possible.
