Temporary housing: lecture halls and shops
Restoration of the C-building, part of a municipal monument, will commence in 2011. Preparations for the restoration have begun with digging works in Institutenlaan. The sequel to this will be noticeable from early December onwards, when parking lot P1 will be partly occupied by temporary housing for retail and lecture rooms.
Once restoration activities start, the C-building will be closed for a year. It houses various lecture halls, as well as retail. In order for lectures and shop activities to carry on as normal, temporary housing will be constructed on parking lot P1. This will offer room to seven lecture halls, student association EFR, bookshop Study Store, Hairdesign by Lydia, the Erasmus Shop and Service Point.
The C-building numbers a total of 2,500 lecture seats, whereas the temporary lecture rooms will hold 500. Naturally, this will affect lecture scheduling, which will be done with even greater care as of that date.
