ERNA MAIL
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE
The Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) offers its students and employees the opportunity to communicate via email within the framework of study and work. To this end, a mailbox is made available to employees and students. The employee mailboxes are preferably accessed on the basis of the Exchange/ActiveSync or IMAP protocol (Interactive Mail Access Protocol), a standard component in most popular email clients. In addition, ERNA provides the opportunity to access your mailbox from any location on the Internet via webmail.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
You connect with the mailbox server on the Erasmus University network via a PC directly linked to the EURnet or via the Internet. You connect to your mailbox with your Windows mail client or the webmail service Your email messages are accessible on the basis of your ERNA user name and the ERNA password.
YOU MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING YOURSELF
A PC configured for receiving and sending email and a connection to the EURnet.
EUR STUDENTS
EUR students are given a mailbox on 24EUR7 to receive email in the framework of their studies. Students who are eligible for this provision will automatically be assigned a ERNA account when they first register at the EUR. As a confirmation of this they will receive the following data via their registration documents (at their first registration only):
- ERNA-username
- ERNA-password
- ERNA-email address
