Type of registration

You can change your type of registration in Studielink. However, some rules may be applicable:

There are four types of registration for the Bachelor’s and initial Master’s programmes:

  • Full-time students
  • Part-time students
  • Dual students
  • Extraneus (external candidate)

If you wish to change the type of registration, you should then find out whether:

  • The other types of registration for your programme are possible at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
    * First consult the overview of initial programmes and types of registration.
    * If you decide to register as an extraneus, you must have written permission from the faculty. In that case, please contact a student advisor.
  • The change fits in with your goal and personal situation.
As a full-time, part-time or dual student, you make take courses, interim and final examinations.
As an extraneus (external candidate), you may only take interim examinations and final examinations. You may not attend classes, receive coaching for theses or make use of student facilities. You will not receive student grants or loans.
You may seek advice from student counsellors.

Notice:

  • Changing the type of registration could sometimes affect the amount of tuition fee that you must pay. As a result, the norm for collecting the tuition fee would also change.
