Forgot your password and/or user name?

If you have forgotten your user name and/or password, you can apply for a new user name and/or password by completing the following steps:

  1. Contact the Studielink Student Help Desk (telephone: (088) 424 7600) or send an e-mail (helpdesk@remove-this.studielink.nl).The operator at the Studielink Student Help Desk will check whether you can have a new login sent to you automatically through the ‘Forgotten Password’ (“Wachtwoord vergeten”) feature. This is possible if your name, date of birth and e-mail address match your current personal data in the Studielink database.
  2. If the e-mail addresses do not match, you will be asked to enter some additional details in Studielink to have a letter containing your new login details sent to your registered Studielink address.
  3. If the student’s postal addresses do not match either, the Studielink Student Help Desk has to collect your personal data (i.e. OC&W number, surname, date of birth and e-mail address) and transfer them to the Studielink Service Desk.
  4. (Once a day, at 12.00 p.m., all relevant applications are forwarded to the Studielink Service Desk.)
  5. The Studielink Service Desk compares the data provided to the data contained in the Studielink database, and then uniquely identifies the student by their OC&W number, surname and date of birth.
  6. After you have been identified, your e-mail address will be updated as indicated by the Studielink Student Help Desk.
  7. As an additional service, the Studielink Service Desk will reset your login. Your new details will be forwarded to the e-mail address provided by the Studielink Student Help Desk using the standard ‘forgot password/login’ feature on the Studielink website (this is done on the same day that the Studielink Student Help Desk forwards the application in question to the Studielink Service Desk).
  8. After your e-mail address has been updated, your student data are added to the file used to send new login details by post (this process take 3-5 working days).

What do I do after I have registered with DUO (formerly IB-groep)?

You do not need to do anything – you will be automatically notified by either Erasmus University or Studielink. The registration period runs until 1 September 2010. If you register before 1 July, you will receive your student card within 2-4 weeks. After 1 July, your registration will take longer to process – please see the registration site for an overview of turnaround times for processing registration requests.

Please note: this does not apply to the Bachelor’s programmes in Criminology and Psychology or to the study programme in Medicine. These programmes are subject to restricted intake (numerus fixus) and to be admitted you require an Admission Statement (Bewijs van Toelating) from DUO (formerly IBG).

What is the registration deadline at EUR?

As the new academic year begins on 31 August 2010, we recommend that you complete your registration before that date. Although you may in practice register and pay until 30 September, you must take into account that it will take longer to process your registration.

After 30 September, you will only be able to register for a small number of study programmes, which will be indicated in Studielink. There are three possibilities:

  • Studielink indicates that registration is still possible - you may still register;
  • Studielink states that registration is not or is no longer possible - you cannot register;
  • Studielink states that registration is possible under certain conditions; in that case, you must contact the relevant department/faculty.

However, please note! After 30 September, it is no longer possible to register for any programmes retroactively. This has far-reaching consequences for your student grant (‘studiefinanciering’), and any marks you receive during the period that you are not registered do not count!

Restricted-entry courses
If you wish to register for a restricted-entry (numerus fixus) course, you must do so before 15 May 2010.

What documents do I need to submit?

After you have submitted your registration request in Studielink, you will receive an e-mail stating what documents you must provide. Please note that these documents may vary depending on the study programme concerned. In any event, we will need a copy of your diploma (plus list of marks), a copy of your passport, and a passport photo.

Your registration will only be completed after we have received all the items required, including your payment or standing order (= direct debit) form.

You must clearly print your EUR student number on the back of all documents (including your passport photo).

What do I do if I cannot submit my HBO diploma yet?

  • If you are transferring to the university having completed the first year/first phase(propedeuse) of an HBO (higher professional education) programme, you must submit your list of marks indicating 60 ECTS credits (42 credits under the old system). If you would like to register for the Economics and Business Economics programme or for Business Administration (Business Administration/Bedrijfskunde), you will also need to submit your VWO (pre-university education) diploma (if you have one) or a statement confirming that you meet the mathematics requirements for the study programme.
  • If you have completed a full HBO programme but are unable to submit a diploma at this point, you will be required to submit an official statement from the HBO institution concerned confirming that you have obtained your diploma and meet the mathematics requirements for the programme

How do I know if I have completed registration?

After you have registered in Studielink, you may in certain cases be asked to submit additional documents (Studielink will inform you if this is the case). It is therefore important to check your e-mail inbox on a regular basis to see whether you have received any messages from Studielink.

Your registration is complete after you have received your student card and/or registration slips. The student card is provided to you only once and is valid for the entire study programme.

Where can I find information on admission by drawing lots and admission by designation?

What is admission by drawing lots?
Admission by drawing lots (centrale selectie) is used for study programmes with limited intake (numerus fixus). Because more students apply than there are places on the programme, the IB Group draws lots.

To which programmes does this apply?
The following EUR programmes are subject to limited intake: Medicine, Criminology, Psychology, Dutch Law and Tax Law. How do I apply for admission by the drawing of lots? To participate in an admission process by the drawing of lots, you must register through Studielink before 15 May 2010. What is admission by designation? Under certain conditions, a university may determine independently which students are admitted to its programmes – this is admission by designation (decentrale selectie). The university designates students for admission based on specific selection criteria such as prior education, subjects studied, work experience and specific knowledge and skills.

Admission by designation is also subject to a number of general conditions:

  • If a particular study programme is subject to both admission by drawing lots and designated admission, you must also register for the admission by drawing lots.
  • You are only permitted to register for designated admission for one programme or institution.
  • You must comply with the prior education requirements in a timely manner.

The university decides how many consecutive years you may participate in the designated admission process for a particular programme.

Which programmes are subject to designated admission?
At Erasmus University, designated admission applies to Medicine (50%) and International Business Administration (100%).

Would you like to register for designated admission? To participate in designated admission, you must register through Studielink before 15 May 2010.

Until when is my admission statement valid?

If you have drawn a place for a limited intake programme, you will receive an admission statement (Bewijs van Toelating) from IB-Groep. Within four weeks of the date indicated on the statement, you must start and complete your registration in Studielink. Make sure you start this process in good time, as your admission statement will no longer be valid after the four-week period ends and you will not be able to register

If you do not wish to use your admission statement, you must return it to IB-Groep as soon as possible.
