How do I pay my tuition fees?
There are two ways to pay your tuition fees:
By direct debit
As soon as the amount of your tuition fees has been established, you can print the standing order (machtiging) in Studielink. Sign the standing order (= direct debit form) and send it to
Erasmus Universiteit
Afdeling CAE,
Antwoordnummer 2791
3000 VB Rotterdam.
To be able to register for the full academic year, you must pay the fees before the start of the academic year. Make sure there are sufficient funds in your account each time your account is debited. If this is not the case, your registration may be blocked, which will have consequences for your student grant (studiefinanciering).
Instalments
If you choose to pay your tuition fees by direct debit in instalments, the amount will be deducted from the account you specified in ten instalments. You will be charged EUR 13 in administration costs.
See the accounts reveicable protocol for the debit dates.
Payment by bank transfer
If you would like to transfer the funds yourself, please transfer the amount to account number 602496071 (ABN AMRO), in the name of Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, quoting your name and student number

How can I change the account number on my standing order form during the academic year?
To change your account number, you must complete a change form.

Can I change the way my account is debited during the academic year?
No. Once you have submitted a standing order form to authorise the direct debit, this cannot be changed. The standing order is valid for one year, but you are free to choose a different payment method for the following academic year.

What happens if I am too late submitting my standing order for direct debit instalments?
If you submit the form after the initial debit date, your account will be debited by two instalments on the second debit date. If you only submit the form after the second debit date, your account will be debited by 3 instalments on the third debit date (See also: Procedures for debtors (in Dutch). If you submit your standing order after 30 September, you will not be registered retroactively, which will cause problems with respect to your student grant (studiefinanciering), your public transport travel card (OV-kaart) and the marks you earned in September.

What do I do if I interrupt my studies during the academic year?
You must submit a request to withdraw from your study programme through Studielink. To calculate the refund amount, see the Student Charter (studentenstatuut)

Employer / parent / guardian is paying
You can specify in Studielink whether you are paying yourself or a parent/partner/employer is paying on your behalf. You can specify someone else by selecting the option 'Someone else is paying' (‘iemand anders betaalt’) when answering the question 'Who is paying your tuition fees?' (‘Wie betaalt het collegegeld?’). Next, you must contact the EUR Central Administrative Unit (Centrale Administratieve Eenheid) through the procedure outlined below.
There are three ways for your employer/parent/guardian to pay the tuition fees:
1. Payment by direct debit
In this case, you must specify in Studielink that someone else is paying on your behalf and enter the payer’s details. These details will be printed on the standing order form. Make sure that the person paying on your behalf signs the standing order form, as your own signature will not be sufficient. Send the standing order form to the following address:
Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam
Afdeling CAE
Postbus 1738
3000 DR Rotterdam
The Netherlands
E-mail address: cae@.feb.eur.nl
2. Payment by invoice
If you pay by invoice, you will not need to submit the standing order form. Instead you should send an e-mail to the CAE department quoting the following details:
- Student number
- Billing address (the invoice will be sent to this address)
- Amount of the tuition fees
- Academic year
3. Payment by bank transfer
You can also transfer the tuition fees to account number 602496071 at ABN AMRO in the name of Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, quoting your name and student number.

Where can I obtain a confirmation of payment of fees, so that I will not be required to pay fees at another research university or university of applied sciences?
You can obtain a confirmation by completing and sending in the 'Statement Request Form' (in Dutch).
When will I use this form?
You have registered as a student for a programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam and paid your tuition fees, but in addition you register for a course at another research university (universiteit) or university of applied sciences (hogeschool). If the fees for both these programmes do not exceed the statutory tuition fees (i.e. EUR 1538 for 2007-2008 or EUR 1565 for 2008-2009) you will not be required to pay fees for the second registration. In that case, the other research university or university of applied sciences will ask you to provide a statement issued by Erasmus University Rotterdam confirming that you have met your payment obligations as regards tuition fees at Erasmus University Rotterdam (generally through a standing order).
Please note!
The statutory tuition fees apply only to full-time students who, at the start of the academic year, are under 30 years of age and are a citizen of the European Economic Area.
Full-time students from a country other than the Netherlands who are under 30 years of age and receive a student grant are also eligible to pay the statutory tuition fees.
All other students are subject to the institution fee and the exemption from payment of fees
(fee waiver) for a second study programme does not generally apply (please contact the university concerned).
You can also request this statement for other reasons, e.g. for tax purposes or for your employer.
You can request a confirmation of payment of fees by completing the form below. The statement will be sent to your term-time address by regular post.
