How to authorise the University to apply for extension on your behalf
If you are continuing your studies at EUR in the academic year 2012-2013, and you currently have a residence permit that expires between mid-June and September 2012, you can arrange the extension of your permit through a collective procedure offered by the university.
If you arrange the extension through the university, the procedure will be quicker than when you arrange the extension yourself. You will receive your new residence permit card on 9 July 2012 (which allows you to travel home during the summer without worrying about your legal status in the Netherlands upon your return). On this date, staff from IND will be present on campus in order to hand out the new permits.
The application deadline for students who wish to receive their new permit on 9 July, is Thursday 24 May 2012. If you wish to participate in this procedure, you need to take the following steps:
- Pay the extension fee through the webshop or at the ESSC. Please note you cannot pay with the staff at the EUR Immigration Desk, so please make sure you pay before submitting your application.
- Complete the application form. Please fill out the form digitally and then print out and sign the form. Please do not complete the form by hand.
- Attach the necessary documentation to your application.
- Submit your completed application and all of the necessary documentation at one of the contact hours of the immigration desk. The deadline is 24 May 2012.
- Make sure to apply for a renewal of your registration in Studielink for the academic year 2012-2013 before 25 May 2012.
- Be present in person when the new residence permit cards will be handed out at Campus Woudestein,9 July 2012. If you cannot be present on this date, you can pick up your residence permit at the immigration desk of the City Hall in Rotterdam at Coolsingel 40.
- Make sure to finalise your registration and make the necessary arrangements for the payment of your tuition fees before 1 September 2012.
Please remember you can only hand in your application during the contact hours of the immigration desk.
