Executive Board
The Executive Board is responsible for preparing and implementing policy and managing the university. The members of the Board are: mrs. P.F.M. van der Meer Mohr LL.M (president), professor H.G. Schmidt (rector magnificus) and B.J.H. Straatman MSc.
The Executive Board, together with the deans, wishes to put the university firmly on the map as a leading, internationally-oriented university with strong roots in Rotterdam. The members of the Executive Board are appointed by the Supervisory Board of EUR.
P.F.M. van der Meer Mohr LL.M (president)
Pauline van der Meer Mohr holds the chair and is responsible for general administrative matters, including the relationship with the Supervisory Board and the University Council. Her portfolio includes strategic policy, international affairs and external relations, for one thing with the region of Rotterdam, the business community and other knowledge institutions.
She was appointed at EUR on 01 January 2010.
Professor H.G. Schmidt (rector magnificus)
Professor Henk Schmidt (left) has been rector magnificus of Erasmus University Rotterdam since 01 September 2009. His main focus is on teaching and research including academic staff (policy), students and research information.
Henk Schmidt (1947) studied psychology at the University of Utrecht and took his doctorate at the University of Maastricht in 1982 where he was appointed professor of Psychology a few years later. In 2001 he moved to Erasmus University Rotterdam where he became professor and chairman of the Institute for Psychology. His appointment as dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences followed in 2005.
B.J.H. Straatman MSc
The third member, Bart Straatman (right), has been a member of the Executive Board since 01 February 2010. His portfolio includes finance, economic policy, terrain & buildings and information technology.
