Housing international students

There are many things that you need to arrange when you decide to study abroad. Finding a place to live is obviously one of the most important things. Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) realizes that it may be difficult to arrange housing in a city you don't know yet. Therefore EUR will give you several options for housing in Rotterdam:

  • Rent per month: € 420 - € 637
  • Rent includes: inventory, internet,
    residential services, utilities & local taxes   
  • Fixed & limited rental period
  • Cancellation of the contract is not permitted

  • Only for exchange students
  • Rent per month: € 300 - € 750
  • Utilities & local taxes are most of the time included in the rent (it depends from the lessor)
  • Rent excludes: residential services 
  • Fixed & limited rental period
  • Long waiting time of lessor
  • Arrangements between lessor and tenant

 

Private market

 

  • Furnished & unfurnished accommodation
  • For international students, PhD & employees
  • Rent per month: € 400 - € 2250
  • Utilities & local taxes are most of the time included in the rent (it depends from the agency or home owner)  
  • Rent excludes: residential services 
  • Administration fee of one month rent for intermediary of housing agency 
  • No limited rental period
  • Arrangements between agency and tenant

 

Keep in mind that the earlier you start searching for a room the more chance you have to find one that fits your wishes. Please be advised that accommodation in Rotterdam, especially furnished, generally does not come cheap, due to the residential services that are included.
