The intended effect of business parks is minimal

In recent years, policy makers have invested billions in large business parks, the idea being that organising businesses and universities in geographical clusters would encourage strategic alliances and innovation. However, this certainly does not apply to the pharmaceutical industry, as Sandra Phlippen discovered. Physical proximity between organisations plays a much smaller role than expected when it comes to gaining access to valuable external knowledge about new medicines. Erasmus's Every Word Now Online

The 15 most important books by Erasmus as well as the Collected Works edition published in 9 volumes shortly after his death are now digitized by the Erasmus Center for Early Modern Studies, in which the Rotterdam City Library cooperates with Erasmus University Rotterdam. The results are available for free on the Center’s website at www.erasmus.org

Erasmus School of Economics establishes the Cordares Chair

As of 1 September 2008, Professor Dr S.G. van der Lecq has been appointed as professor to the endowed chair Pension Markets on behalf of the Trust Fund Association EUR (Vereniging Trustfonds EUR). In order to stimulate research into the advantages and limitations of market mechanisms in the pension sector, Cordares will sponsor a chair at the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam. The agreement between Cordares and the Erasmus University Rotterdam will be signed tomorrow.
