Scholarships
Attending university is one of the most significant decisions a person today can make. It usually comes with quite a price tag too. Getting admitted to the programme of your choice is only part of the challenge. The other part is making it affordable.
We can be of assistance helping you materialize your academic dreams. Although we do not have an extensive scholarship programme, some of our international Master programmes do however offer tuition waivers, loan schemes or organize essay competitions. There are also special scholarships that are offered in cooperation with companies, such as the RSM MBA scholarship.
The Dutch government is attempting to make Dutch higher education as accessible as possible to students and mid-career professionals from other countries. In Holland, higher education is subsidized, which means that tuition fees can be kept relatively low, especially compared with the United Kingdom and the United States.
There are several possibilities for obtaining funding. Some examples of scholarship programmes are:
- Huygens Scholarship Programme; The prestigious HSP Huygens Programme is open to excellent students from all countries of the world. It is aimed at talented students who want to come to the Netherlands in the final phase of their bachelor’s studies or during their master’s studies.
- Erasmus Mundus; Erasmus Mundus is a new programme of the European Commission. Its aim is to improve the quality of European higher education and to encourage cooperation with countries outside the EU. It does this through joint master’s degree programmes offered by partner institutions in the member states.
- Tempus; The programme allows universities to offer scholarships for student exchanges only within those partnerships. For information about existing partnerships and related scholarships please contact your own university.
- Erasmus; The Erasmus programme is a component of the European programme ‘LifeLong Learning’ from the European Commission for mobility of higher education in Europe. The programme aims to encourage cooperation among the higher education institutions of Europe.
A large amount of money is earmarked for supporting students who wish to complete part of their studies in another country of the European Union or to finance student placements in enterprises, training centres, research centres and other organisations
More information can be found at www.grantfinder.nl, an online search engine which brings together a range of Dutch scholarships for international students who wish to come to the Netherlands.
