Funding Opportunities

COS Funding Opportunities provides more than 22,000 records representing more than $33 billion in grants, fellowships, prizes, and more. COS Funding Opportunities is international in both content and audience, providing access to monies from public and private sector sponsors around the world.

We invite you all to check out the COS database and try it out. The first time you will have to register as a new user (see upper left corner on your screen: “new user; register free. Once you have registered you will be able to create your own profile and make it available to other users, search for researchers in related areas and define alerts that will inform you when relevant funding opportunities appear.

Beursopener for research funds

A database to find various funds for research, projects and also for Master theses is www.beursopener.nl. The database is very easy to use, gives a summary of the funding opportunity and a link to the website of the funding organization.

Chinese Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation

Keywords: The Foundation's grants provide support for research on Chinese Studies in the humanities and social sciences. The Foundation will consider applications from institutions for grants to support conferences or seminars on specific subjects related to the Foundation's goals and objectives with a maximum of 25.000 euro

 ERC Starting Grant

Deadlines: 9/12/09 for Social Sciences and Humanities

Keywords: Depending on the subject of the proposed project, ERC Starting Grants may last up to five years and provide a total amount of up to €2 million (a pro-rata amount for projects of a shorter duration).

Target group: The ERC Starting Grant aims to provide adequate support to researchers during a stage in which they are intending to establish or have already established an independent research team or, depending on the field, are developing an independent research programme.

European Re-integration Grants & International Re-integration grants

Deadlines: 9 March, 7 September 2010

Keywords: In the Marie-Curie programme of FP-7 applications can be submit for the European Re-integration Grants; as a follow up of a former Marie-Curie grant.  

International Re-integration grants are for talented researchers who work outside the EU to let them do research within Europe. To goal is to get the talented reseachers back to Europe.

For both subsidies there are two cut-off dates.

Keywords: Female researchers (master and PhD) can participate in the Doctor Catharine van Tussenbroek fund. The fund offers 6000 euro to international research or international education. The fund also offers 1250 euro toshort study trips for PhD or follow up research.
