Our ambitions
By the time of its centennial anniversary in 2013, Erasmus University Rotterdam will be…
- a self-respecting, passionate university which produces talent and knowledge relevant to humankind and society, plays in the academic premier league and is intricately bound up with Rotterdam
- offering educational programs for students in all stages of educational life (from bachelor to professionals and seniors) and of different cultural backgrounds
- with excellent Dutch- and English language bachelor programs and internationally trend-setting master programs at the interfaces of economics, health and society
- programs with great appeal to talented students from Rotterdam and the entire world
- so that the Erasmus community - and the city alike -will be an even bigger melting-pot of talent and culture, a melting-pot that cooks up cosmopolitans and so becomes even more attractive
- a university renowned for its graduates displaying a distinct societal and international orientation, hands on and high-reaching, fitted up for executive or professional positions
- where academic research projects are run that are among the international top and therefore attract researchers of world fame
- what's more, research springing from and contributing to the immediate vicinity, to the innovative solution of (metropolitan) problems, and thus generating knowledge which opens up new horizons
- with interesting and relevant links to its partners (public bodies, the business world, organizations) actively facilitated by alumni in particular, from which result tailor-made education and research projects, and which benefit the city of Rotterdam with its colorful population
- with a campus of international appeal, an attractive meeting place, an open and inspiring learning-, living- and working environment
- and, lastly, which is imbued with a culture of entrepreneurship preparing and encouraging professionals to take risks and one's own responsibility, a culture of collective efforts to break up fresh (knowledge) grounds.
