ECOPT members are doing research in the field of public transport optimization. We work together with a number of companies in the Netherlands in different projects. These are:
Netherlands Railways (NS):
- Robust planning and Rescheduling in Railways;
- Delay Management;
- Crew (re)Scheduling and Rostering;
- Rolling Stock (re)Planning;
- Shunting Trains at Railway Stations;
- Punctuality in Railway Systems;
- Computer Aided Timetabling for Railway Systems;
Connexxion (bus company providing interregional and suburban services in the Netherlands):
- Dynamic Vehicle and Crew Scheduling to prevent delays;
- Integrated Vehicle and Crew Scheduling;
RET (local public transport company in Rotterdam):
- Integrated Vehicle and Crew Scheduling;
Stadsbus Maastricht (local public transport company in Maastricht):
- Crew Scheduling (DOPT system).
For our research about Integrated Vehicle and Crew Scheduling, we implemented a system that can solve practical instances. This system can also be used for "first vehicle and then crew scheduling". For more information, click here.
