Extra facilities for students with a functional impairment

Students who have a temporal or structural functional impairment (for example: dyslexia, chronical illness, broken limbs) can use special facilities, during the period of this disadvantage and within reasonable limits.

These facilities are offered to make sure that students with a disadvantage will have an equal chance to succeed in their studies. For example, you can request to have extra time during examinations.

Writing a request

Use the form 'Request to the Examination Board' (to be opened with version 9 of Acrobat Reader) to hand in your request. Fill in this form on your computer, print it out and send it after signing it. Pay special attention to the following aspects:

  • You should fill in this form completely and truthfully.
  • Explain at least which facility you would like to use and why (for example: extra examination time because of dyslexia).
  • Attach the following documents to your request: supporting documentation, for example a certificate of a (medical) specialist or of a student counselor.

Handing in your request

The Examination Board will process complete and clear requests only. Incomplete and unclear request will not be processed and will be returned to the student. Requests handed in via e-mail will not be taken into consideration. If your request is taken into consideration you will not receive a written receipt. You will receive the decision of the Examination Board by regular mail within six weeks.

If you would like to know more about the status of your request, please contact the Information Desk of the Education Service Centre.

You can only contact the Examination Board by writing. The Examination Board does not speak to students in person and does not give explanation about its decisions orally.
