Interim last examination before Master's exam
A student can submit a request for an interim (last) examination to the Examination Board if the following requirements are met:
- You have finished your master's thesis. The thesis should be handed in to your supervisor and should be ready to defend according to your supervisor. Your supervisor has sent the thesis evaluation form to the exam administration.
- This is your last examination before you will graduate;
- You have participated in the last regular examination;
- Your graduation will take place before the first opportunity of a regular examination will take place.
Please notice that it can take up to six weeks before the examination board has processed your request. After this, you will need to make an appointment with the lecturer to make the examination, you will need to make the examination and the examination needs to be assessed by the lecturer. Only after the grade is booked in Osiris you can request your graduation and hand in your thesis at the exam administration.
If you want to make a last examination in the summer, you will need to request this by 31 July at the latest.
Writing a request
Use the form 'Request to the Examination Board' (to be opened with version 9 of Acrobat Reader) to hand in your request. Fill in this form on your computer, print it out and send it after signing it. Pay special attention to the following aspects:
- You should fill in this form completely and truthfully.
- Explain at least:
- why you request an interim last examination;
- for which course (name and course code) you request an interim last examination;
- Attach the following document to your request: a recent print out of your grade list in Osiris.
Handing in your request
The Department of Examination Administration deals with requests for exemptions and interim last examinations on behalf of the Examination Board. You must therefore submit your form ‘Request to the Examination Board’ to the Department of Examination Administration and not to the Examination board, when you are requesting an exemption.
The Department of Examination Administration will process complete and clear requests only. Incomplete and unclear request will not be processed and will be returned to the student. Also requests handed in via e-mail will not be taken into consideration. If your request is taken into consideration you will not receive a written receipt. You will receive the decision of the Department of Examination Administration, on behalf of the Examination Board, by regular mail within six weeks.
If you would like to be informed about the status of your request, you can contact the Department of Examination Adminstration.
