Who are exempted from the obligatory attendance requirements?

Pre-Master's students, part-time student and Eramus Colleges students

Pre-Master's students and part-time students do not have to attend the tutorials of Bachelor-1 and Bachelor-2 courses. They are adviced to attend the tutorials anyway, because this will increase their chances to obtain good grades. Students can very often also earn a part of their final grade during tutorials, by making assignments, pre-tests and so on.

Pre-Master's students should register for the separate tutorial groups for Pre-Master students (SCHAKEL-group).

Please notice: Pre-master students (IBEB-3) do need to meet the obligatory attendance requirements for International Economics and International Lecture Series.

Students with an average grade of 7.0 for Bachelor-1

Students who have rounded off their entire Bachelor-1 programme in a single year with a weighted average of 7.0 or higher do not have to comply with the minimum obligation to attend 70% for bachelor-2 courses in a following academic year. An average grade of 6.95 will be rounded off to a 6.9 and is therefore not sufficient.

Calculation of the final course grade

The final grade for the course concerned will be established on the basis of the examination score, if necessary averaged - if applicable - with valid grades for intermediate tests and/or assignments. So, the examination score does not count for 100%, in the case of intermediate tests and/or assigments.

Students should therefore still make the intermediate tests and/or assignments.

Students who are exempt from the obligation to attend, but nevertheless want to attend one or more sessions of a tutorial, should register themselves for a tutorial group in time.

Repeaters who fulfilled the obligatory attendance requirement earlier

Students who have obtained a valid (registered in OSIRIS) but insufficient result for a bachelor-1 or bachelor-2 course, do not have to comply with the minimum obligation to attend 70% when they have to redo the same course in a following academic year. These students have fulfilledthe minimum obligation to attend last year and participated in the examination last year as well.

Calculation of the final course grade

The final grade for the course concerned will be established on the basis of the examination score, if necessary averaged - if applicable - with valid grades for intermediate tests and/or assignments. So, the examination score does not count for 100%, in the case of intermediate tests and/or assigments.

Please notice: Grades for intermediate tests and/or assignments are only valid in the academic year in which they were obtained. Students should therefore still make the intermediate tests and/or assignments.

Students who are exempt from the obligation to attend, but nevertheless want to attend one or more sessions of a tutorial, should register themselves for a tutorial group in time.
