The EUR is planning to alter the EUR-wide BSA as from the 1st of September 2012, with the motto ‘nominal is normal’. Under this new scheme, students have to obtain all 60 credits in their first year. This measure fits well with the concept of education of the ESE.

In 2011-2012 there will be some changes in the MSc Economics and Informatics. The specialisation Economics and ICT will be offered in cooperation with the RSM master Business Information Management. The specialisation Computational Economics will be centered around the theme ‘logistics’.

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) has appointed professor Philip Hans Franses, professor of Applied Econometrics and Marketing Research at the Erasmus School of Economics, as one of the five new members of the section of Behavioural and Social Sciences Division of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
