Overview Skills Development International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics
The skills development programme of IBEB runs throughout the curriculum. The table below shows an overview of the skills taught in the bachelor programme:

B-1 | Block 1 | Attention to group dynamics and study skills in Mathematics 1 and Guidance. |
Block 2 | ICT course, aimed at computer skills: using Windows and Excel, and an introduction to databases. | |
Block 4 | Tutorials for Marketing aimed at presentation skills and discussion skills for use in later tutorials and seminars. Additionally, attention to statistical techniques in Applied Statistics 1, including and introduction to SPSS. | |
Block 5 | Tutorials for Organisation & Strategy, aimed at literature research skills and writing skills. Skills development in year 1 concludes with a paper for Organisation & Strategy. | |
B-2 | Block 2 | Applied Statistics 2 focuses on processing and interpreting data, and includes a further introduction to SPSS. |
Block 3 | Tutorials for History of Economic Thought, aimed at research skills and writing skills. | |
Block 4 | Tutorials and assignments for Methods & Techniques, aimed at research skills and an introduction to EViews. One class is dedicated to presentation skills. | |
Block 5 | Research project, which concludes B-2 with a research assignment/paper. | |
B-3 | Block 2 & 3 | Electives aimed at presentation skills (Communication Skills). Additionally, the elective Writing and Presenting in English. |
Block 3 | A number of majors contain courses that focus on research methods and techniques in a specific area. | |
Block 4 | Attention to discussion skills, presentation skills and often writing skills in seminars. The skills tutorials for Marketing, Organisation & Strategy and History of Economic Thought have prepared students for the level required here. | |
Block 5 | B-3 is concluded by writing a bachelor thesis. Most skills learned throughout the bachelor programme are put to practice here. |
