After return
After returning to The Netherlands you need to make some last arrangements in order to finish your exchange period.
Academic transcript
Usually your host university will send your academic transcript to the ESE. We will notify you as soon as the academic transcript has arrived. You can then collect your transcript at the Information Desk in H6-02.
Bringing in courses in your Bachelor's programme
After your return there are two ways to bring in the courses you have done abroad.
As electives
In order to bring in the courses as electives, you have to fill in the form 'Transfer of credits' and to hand this in at the Education Service Centre, together with a copy of your academic transcript. The Examination board will process your request. You will receive the outcome by letter within six weeks. You can download the form 'Bringing in Electives' here.
As an exemption from an obligatory course
In this case you will need the permission of the Examination Board of the ESE. Please read all information about writing a request to the Examination Board carefully
You should convert the original obtained credits to rounded off ECTS credits on an additional form, in case your host university uses a different credit sytem. For more information see page 3 of the from 'Bringing in Electives'.
In case the Examination Board does not grant you exemption, you can still bring in the courses as electives. The rules and regulations of the Examination Board can found on the start page
Please note: You can only integrate your courses into your elective space after handing in your student report.
Student report
You will need to write a student report about your exchange. A description of your preparation and findings is useful for the Education Service Centre als well as for other students who are interested in going on exchange to the same destination. Therefore we will publish all student reports on our website.
Click here for guidelines on writing your student report.
Final payment of scholarships
ESE scholarship
In case you have received an ESE scholarship (scholarship for destinations outside of Europe) the student report has to be sent digitally to the exchange coordinator of the ESE. The exchange coordinator will assess the report and will arrange the payment of your second part of the scholarship.
Erasmus scholarship
You have received a number of documents when you applied for the Erasmus scholarship. After your return these forms also have to be signed by the employees of the Information Desk of the Education Service Centre (room H6-02) before handing them in at the Erasmus Student Service Centre (E-building). The second part of the Erasmus scholarship will be paid, as soon as you hand in your grade list to the ESSC.
