The ESE exchange programme
The ESE offers an exchange programme to all Bachelor students of the ESE. During the third Bachelor year, students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our partner universities for a fixed period of time. Before departure, students have to create a study plan to be carried out at the partner university. The study plan outlines which individual courses you plan to take abroad. This facilitates a smooth inclusion into the study programme which will avoid any study delay upon return. Some of the costs associated with studying abroad can be offset by the many grants and subsidies offered by various organisations.
For some practical information on studying abroad you can take a look at the Exhange leaflet 2011-2012. Click here to view the leaflet for Exchange 2011-2012.
Who can study abroad?
Our exchange programme is especially designed for Bachelor-3 students. Master students who still have to complete some Bachelor courses during their Master's programme can apply for the exchange programme as well. All of our exchange agreements are on undergraduate level (bachelor-level). You will therefore not be able to take any courses at master-level during your exchange. Pre-Master students or Schakelstudenten cannot apply for exchange.
Please check if you meet the requirements before you start your application.
When can I study abroad?
The best period to go on exchange is during Block 1 and 2 of your third Bachelor year. You can take courses at one of our partner universities instead of the minor or internship (block 1) and as electives (block 2).
Students from IBEB or Economie & Bedrijfseconomie will usually not get any study delay if they go abroad during Block 1 and 2 of Bachelor-3. They are able to fulfil the minor (12 credits) and their elective space (12 credits). Students Fiscale Economie, Econometrie or Economie & Informatica may end up with a study delay. These students can turn to the study advisers to inform about their possibilities to study abroad.
