Summer Course in Mathematics

Mathematics is an essential part of the Economics and Business Economics study programme. All economists need a solid mathematical foundation! That is why we begin directly in block 1 with the course Mathematics 1. You will be required to take a mathematics assessment test on the first day of your study to determine whether your mathematics knowledge and skills are sufficient (this test only applies to the first-year bachelor students). Over the course of the first year, you will also notice that a strong mathematical foundation is extremely important in many Economics classes.
To ensure that all students start their academic year well prepared, the ESE offers a summer course in Mathematics. This course in an online course programme that analyses your progress and immediately evaluates which components you have already mastered. This makes the course unique, individual and, above all, highly efficient.
How can you benefit from the summer course?
After you have completed the summer course, you will have mastered the appropriate starting level for the course Mathematics 1. You will also receive a bonus credit, to be included with the mid-term exam for Mathematics 1. Moreover, students who complete the summer course tend to achieve an average of one grade higher in Mathematics 1 than those who did not take or complete the course. In other words, taking the Mathematics summer course will significantly increase your chances of a successful start to your studies!
