Using calculators during written examinations
A lot of ESE written examinations require the use of a calculator. The lecturer of the course determines whether a programmable calculator or a standard scientific calculator is allowed during the written examination. During the lectures the lecturer will explain if, and if yes which type of calculator can be used. This information can also be found on the cover sheet of each written exam.
If the lecturer allows the use of a standard scientific calculator during the written examination students can only use one of the calculators mentioned below:
- FX-82SX Plus (Casio)
- FX-82MS (Casio)
- FX-350MS (Casio)
- TI-30Xa (Texas Instruments)
- TI-30XS Multiview (Texas Instruments)
The use of any other calculator will be considered as fraud by the Examination Board ESE.
