Grades

The following rules apply to grades obtained for ESE courses:

  • (Sub)examinations and exam subjects are assessed with a grade on a scale from 1.0 – 10.0, accurate to one decimal place.
  • A satisfactory result is a grade higher than or equal to 5.5.
  • A five is a grade higher than or equal to 4.5 and lower than 5.5. A five can be compensated in some cases.
  • Grades lower than 4.5 are not allowed and cannot be compensated.
  • No grade, but the qualification 'fulfilled' is awarded for the following exam subjects:
    • ESE Take-off
    • Mentoraat Economie en Bedrijfseconomie
    • Mentoraat Econometrie en Operationele Research
    • Guidance
    • Oriëntatie Econometrie en Operationele Research
    • Bibliotheekpracticum
  • If an examination for one and the same course is taken twice or more, the highest result achieved counts.

Official grades

Students can find their official grades in OSIRIS. You can access OSIRIS via MyEUR. Grades posted via BlackBoard or Sin-Online are not regarded as official.

Students also can follow their study progress via OSIRIS. By clicking on 'file overview' all valid results will be showed.

Final grades for bachelor-1 and bachelor-2 courses

The final grade of bachelor-1 and bachelor-2 courses consists of:

  • obligatory attendance in the tutorials;
  • in some cases sub-examinations and/or assignments;
  • an examination grade.

Passed sub-examinations and/or assignments and the obligatory attendance are only valid in the academic year in which they have been fullfilled.

If the obligation to attend the tutorials is not fullfilled, no final grade will be determined. Also the examination grade and the sub-examination and/or assignment grades will be cancelled.

Term of validity of results

Results of exam subjects have a limited term of validity.

  • All passed or compensated exam subjects of the bachelor’s exam have a term of validity of six years;
  • All granted exemptions from exam subjects of the bachelor’s exam have a term of validity of six years;
  • Results of tutorial tests and assignments expire if the exam subject is not passed with a sufficient or compensable result within the academic year in question.
  • All passed or compensated exam subjects of the master’s exam have a term of validity of three years;
  • All granted exemptions from exam subjects of the bachelor’s exam have a term of validity of three years;

In exceptional cases, the examination board can extend the term of validity with a maximum of one year upon the request of a student.
