Heleen Mees appointed as researcher at ESE

As a part of the 'Mature Talent' project, Heleen Mees has been appointed as researcher at Erasmus School of Economics (ESE). Within this project, she will spend two years on a thesis  about the influence of the monetary policy of China in a globalizing world economy. Her supervisors will be professor Philip Hans Franses and professor Casper de Vries.

The Mature talent project focuses on developing female talent in the field of economics. Professor Franses: "The project aims to attract female researchers who have earned their spurs outside the Erasmus School of Economics. With the appointment of Heleen Mees ten talented female researchers are now filling positions as assistant professors in training at our school".

Besides her bi-weekly column in the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad, Heleen Mees has published in international newspapers such as The New York Times and The Financial Times. She is co-founder of Women on Top (2006). Together with European Commissioner for Competition Neelie Kroes, Heleen Mees is a passionate advocate of getting more women in top positions.
