The processes of globalization is reshaping and redefining the institutions that make up our daily life. The nation state, the city, the family and the labour market, have all been subject to irreversible change. The international movement of populations across borders has also played a crucial role in this respect. The Erasmus University research group Citizenship, Migration & the City (CIMIC) analyses the consequences of globalization in terms of new patterns of citizenship, human mobility and identity formation.
