Drs. Thomas Wells
Thomas Wells (1979) studied Natural Sciences (philosophy, biology and anthropology) at the University of Durham in the UK (BA & MA) but he was drawn to the field of philosophy and economics by the unique research master programme at Erasmus University. He came to Rotterdam in 2004. Currently, Wells is completing his PhD thesis 'Reasoning about Human Development' on the philosophy of Amartya Sen's capability approach to human development, supervised by Ingrid Robeyns and Jack Vromen.
Wells' main research interests are ethics, political philosophy, rationality, development and economic methodology. He is a co-founder and co-editor of the Erasmus Journal for Philosophy and Economics (EJPE). He also runs the EIPE library (H5-14).
