Exchange or Free Mover Student?
Exchange
Exchange within Europe
The Faculty of Philosophy currently has several Erasmus Exchange agreements with European institutions, providing a variety of opportunities for students.
The main advantages of participating in the Erasmus Programme are:
- Students travelling under the Erasmus scheme do not pay fees at the host institution, but remain registered at their own university
- Erasmus students can obtain credits (ECTS) for their succesfully completed courses;
- Students often have a right for a monthly Erasmus grant (contact the Erasmus-coordinator of your home institution about this);
- Students receive all the help and services of the International Office of Erasmus University without paying extra fees.

Non-European Exchange
The Faculty of Philosophy of Erasmus University Rotterdam participates in several Non-European International Exchange Programmes. International students from our partner universities throughout the world are welcome to spend a study abroad period in the international city of Rotterdam.

Free Mover
If there is no formal agreement on student exchange between your home university and Erasmus University Rotterdam, you may apply to Erasmus University as a so-called Free Mover. Applying as a Free Mover means that you do not take part in any exchange programme, but arrange your stay on an individual basis.
