Philosophy and Economics

The Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics (EIPE) is a multidisciplinary research institute and graduate school of Erasmus University Rotterdam, founded in 1997. The Institute combines the expertise of faculty from the Faculties of Philosophy, Economics, History and Arts, and the Rotterdam School of Management in a joint research programme - ‘Institutions’.

Research Master in Philosophy and Economics

EIPE members teach the core courses in the Research Master in Philosophy and Economics offered by the Faculty of Philosophy of Erasmus University. The Research Master is open to students with a background in philosophy or economics and provides a thorough grounding in the main areas of the philosophy of economics together with the analytical and research skills required for further study as a junior researcher or PhD candidate.

The thriving (partially funded) Ph.D. programme at EIPE is intended to follow the Research Master, train new reseachers in the philosophy of economics, and contribute to the overall Institutions research programme.
