Specialisation Global History and International Relations
The Master programme History of Society/Global History and International Relations will take you on a global comparative and multidisciplinary journey. If you are interested in major social issues and broad socio-economic and cultural-historical themes, this is the master program for you. In line with the tradition of the faculty, the emphasis is on social context, taking its cue from current events, the programme covers a broad range of subjects from migration, North-South relations, the economic and political development in the last centuries and the consequences of these developments for the power relations in the world. The question how the West became dominant and whether this will prove to be just temporarily will be one of the focuses, while the development in internal Western power relations will be the other.
The programme is open to students with a Bachelor of Arts in History or in some cases to students with a bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences.
