New course: e-Dingen: media en tools voor het Hoger Onderwijs = e-Things: media and tools for Higher Education

The library helps students, teachers and researchers become information experts by offering courses on the use of scientific information and new media. An overview of all courses is available at the Information Literacy Portal. New in this listing is the course, e-Dingen: media en tools voor het Hoger Onderwijs = e-Things: media and tools for Higher Education.
The course is written in Dutch but many links point to English language articles, films and manuals. Non-Dutch readers can click on the built-in Google Site Translate button for a quick machine translation of the Dutch text.
The course is a mix of face-to-face and online learning and is designed for teachers, research assistants, ICTO staff and librarians of the EUR. The lessons, which are also suitable for self-study, were developed by the SURFAcademy for the course 21eDingen. The lessons about the e-Things were written by professionals in higher education.
The course consists of 22 lessons about web 2.0 and (SURFnet) tools ranging from SURFmedia to YouTube, from blogs to Twitter and wikis to Google apps. The main goal is to get acquainted with the application of these tools in higher education. The course is offered through a WordPress blog. The blog has a responsive web design which allows for easy reading on a PC, laptop, notebook or mobile phone. As a student you communicate with other students and the course supervisor through your own weblog which you set up in the very first e-Thing.
The course is hosted and supported by the Academic Services department of the University.
You can find the course: e-Dingen: media en tools voor het Hoger Onderwijs = e-Things: media and tools for Higher Education on the library’s Information Literacy Portal.
