What is a scholarly publication?
A scholarly publication is the initial publication of the original results of research that:
- is presented in a form that makes it possible for fellow scholars to repeat the experiments and test the conclusions;
- is published in a journal or other medium that is directly available within the scholarly community;
- is, by definition, peer reviewed; that is to say, it has been through a process of collegial review, and is thus accepted within the scholarly community.
