Publishing in a scholarly journal
Although there are different methods of publishing, the most common method is still publishing an article in a scholarly journal. These days, this may be an open access journal or a regular journal, printed or digital; the procedure is quite comparable in all cases.
The chance of being published is closely linked to the prestige of the journal—along with the quality of your article, of course. The more prestigious the journal, the less chance that your article will be accepted. Whichever journal you choose, you will still have to deal with the editor’s selection and some form of peer review.
