Thomson Reuters Scientific, the publisher of ISI Web of Knowledge, which includes Web of Science, offers its customers quite a few help functions, from a context-sensitive help button to comprehensive manuals. You may even watch online instructional movies. Below is a list of all options:
- Help button in the Web of Science database. Context-sensitive help function, containing 'Index' (alphabetical index) and ‘Contents’ (overview of all topics).
- Live Web-based training:
Follow a Web-based training course live on your PC after registering. Note the course times, however. You may wish to opt for London-based courses, in view of the time differences with places like New York and Los Angeles. - Recorded training:
Instructional movies on a variety of topics, including Search Tips for Web of Science, Citation Alerting, Cited Reference Searching, Managing Search Results, Saving Search Histories and Creating Alerts. - Support Training Materials:
Manuals, product information, demos, quick reference cards, brief explanations of specific functions (tip sheets) and frequently asked questions on ISI Web of Knowledge, including Web of Science. .
