Web of Science offers various possibilities for saving and managing search results. The results can be saved to a server and are then accessible via ‘My Saved Searches’. The system will alert you to new publications in your field on the basis of the saved data (search history alerts). Use ‘My Citation Alerts’ to receive notifications when certain publications or authors are cited. This is a handy feature that can keep you automatically informed of how your own work is cited in recent papers. Using ‘My EndNote Web’ to save and manage your search results automatically generates a list of sources.
The ‘My ResearcherID’ option allows you to create a research profile that can be made accessible to other researchers. You will need to register for this option. First click the ‘Sign in’ button at the top of the page in ‘Web of Knowledge’ or ‘Web of Science’. Next, register via de ‘Register’ button, to the right of the page, and create your ResearcherID.
