UL Instruction   Data management   My Citation Alerts

My Citation Alerts

After having activated Citation Alerts, you will receive e-mails alerting you to citations of specific articles in newly published articles. Say, you found one or more relevant articles in a Web of Science search. You will likely want to keep informed of future citations since it’s very likely that these recent papers contain new information on your subject. Citation Alerts save time. You need not find these new publications yourself; the system alerts you to them. Note, however, that you will need to register first (read more about this in the ‘Data Management’ section). Set a Citation Alert as follows:

  1. Click on the title of the publication for which you wish to set a Citation Alert in ‘Search Results’; the full record will be displayed.
  2. Click the ‘Create Citation Alert’ button, to the right of the page; a confirmation will appear.
  3. Click ‘Done’.

Modify or remove a Citation Alert:

  1. Click ‘My Citation Alerts’ at the top of the page.
  2. Click  ‘Modify Settings’
  3. Modify the relevant settings or tick the Citation Alert to be removed in the ‘Remove from list’ column.
  4. Click ‘Submit Changes’.
