Thesis: Does Law Matter for Economic Growth?
Guangdong Xu was born in Dongying, Shandong Province of China. He earned a Bachelor degree in Economics from Renmin University in 1994, and a PhD degree in Economics from The Chinese Academy of Social Science in 2004. Guangdong Xu has been working at Research Center for Law and Economics (RCLE), China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) since 2005, as an associate professor.
In January 2007, Guangdong Xu started his second PhD study as a visiting scholar at Rotterdam Institute of Law and Economics, Erasmus School of Law under the supervision of Prof.dr. M.G. Faure. His research interests focus on general theory of law and economics, property rights and property law, corporate governance and corporate law.
His PhD thesis was written as part of the European Doctorate in Law and Economics program. Results from his PhD research have been presented in seminars at CUPL, the University of Bologna Law School, International Institute for Asian Studies (Leiden), and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
