International Womens Day
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The EUR firmly supports diversity in its workforce. A diverse workforce will come up with relevant new questions and more innovative approaches with regard to research, and provide an innovative boost to education. Education and research are best pursued by a wide diversity of individual people who can feel at home, develop themselves to their personal best and each bring their own opinions, knowledge and experience to the task.
Therefore, the EUR IWD committee wholeheartedly invites you to this event.
'Let’s Talk Health, (Wo)men!'
International Women’s Day on Thursday 8 March celebrates the position of women in society. Everyone is invited to a talk show hosted by Erasmus University Rotterdam to address equality in women’s health, an internationally topical and important theme.
The talkshow will be hosted by Dory Grandia (Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisation). Her discussion partners are:
Prof.dr. Semiha Denktas (EUC) on ‘health information & nudging’. How can we change behaviour through a positive message?
Dr. Jeanine Roeters van Lennep (Erasmus MC) on the male/female differences in medical research
Ginie Servant (EUC) on ‘Fairfight’ – an organisation fostering women empowerment through martial arts
Pinar Coskun on the EUR Sustainable Foodlab, aimed at creating a sustainable life style befitting the new global way of living.
The EUR firmly supports diversity in its workforce and EUR’s celebration of International Women’s Day complements this policy. Everyone – students and staff, male and female – is invited to attend. Become inspired by the speakers and their ideas, and get answers to your questions! Let’s celebrate health together.
