Who organises the Eurekaweek?

To make the Eurekaweek a success, every year a team of senior students is appointed as an employee of Erasmus University Rotterdam: the Eurekaweek board. They are responsible for all aspects of organising the Eurekaweek. This entails for example compiling the programme, applying for permits, classifying the groups, making the program booklet and collaborating with Erasmus University and the Municipality of Rotterdam. They start this project in January and work through the entire summer to make the Eurekaweek a big success.

Do you want to organize the Eurekaweek next year yourself? This is possible! During the year we will look for successors, so keep an eye on the website and our social media pages and who knows you might become one of the members of the Eurekaweek 2021. Click the link below for more information.

Eurekaweek Crew

During the preparations and the Eurekaweek itself, the board is assisted by the Eureka crew. Around 70 crewmembers assist the board during the week and the days before, in particular with some practical activities, such as the provision of information to participants, setting up and cleaning the activities and keeping order.

Eurekaweek Guides

During the Eurekaweek all the groups have two guides who take them around the city and guide them through all the fun activities. The guides are divided per study, which means that participants can also ask their guides anything study-related. We need about 650 guides who volunteer their time to make the Eurekaweek unforgettable for participants.

The Guides Committee was set up in 2018, it supports the board during the recruitment of guides. This committee consists of a number of Erasmus students who help with the selection and training of a large group of guides to ensure that the guidance during the week is optimal.
