Current facets (Pre-Master)
A good mix of online and campus-based education makes our education more visual, interactive, flexible and personal. As much as possible, we will provide basic knowledge through the medium of online education, and we are working on digital tests. Most importantly, we are creating space for innovative ideas.
Lecturers and students in the Community for Learning & Innovation are working on:

Through the development of online education modules, the CLI is contributing to educational innovation and improving the quality of education.
Within the Community for Learning & Innovation, we are working on introducing more blended learning to our education as well as making our education more activating, inspiring and motivational, to create a good mix of online and campus-based education. Using knowledge clips, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs), we are providing basic knowledge to the highest extent possible through the medium of online education. On campus, students receive guidance from well-trained lecturers as they are given challenging assignments that encourage them to use active learning, both in teams as well as individually. The new digital learning environment Canvas facilitates lecturers and students in both forms of education.
We are introducing digitalisation in the Community for Learning & Innovation as a resource for improving assessments at Erasmus University Rotterdam and to better meet the needs of the current generation of students.
In the past period, investments have been made in setting up pilots and facilitating the community of practice within the Digital Assessment project. In the coming time the CLI will work on preparations to offer the digital test as a standard service at the start of the 2018-2019 academic year.
In the Community for Learning & Innovation we are experimenting with ideas for educational innovation. Our out-of-the-box thinking will lead us to innovative solutions. We are exploring which ‘innovations of the future’ could play a role in Erasmus University Rotterdam’s education and which of these innovations represent added value for our students. Some of the examples of what we mean include innovations such as virtual or augmented reality in our education, or introducing a new generation of serious games and apps.
