Development of the MOOC 'Sustainable Finance'

Students (Master Finance & Investment) are becoming more interested in sustainability. However, we notice that despite the students’ enthusiasm, their knowledge level is very heterogeneous. Which makes sense, since sustainability isn’t a required part of the curriculum. Because students are the professionals of the future, we would like to show them how to bring sustainability into practice in finance.

Goal

We would make a preparatory MOOC of the theoretical part of the course, and through that create a more blended context. The aim is to create more space for practice and conversation in the classroom, instead of just knowledge transferring. This course will emphasise why finance should be at the heart of the sustainable transition and explain how it can be used to advance the transition. Learners will be encouraged to contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable and inclusive society by making societal value and the allocation of resources more visible. The message is if you are not playing along you will be left behind.

Result

When the project has been evaluated, the results will be published.
