Mission and vision
The mission of the Erasmus University Rotterdam is to create a positive impact on societal challenges. Seven priorities are thereby formulated for the strategy 2019-2024 and sustainability is one of these seven priorities. Sustainability should feature prominently in education, research and operations. A balance between people, planet and profit is hereby essential.
The Erasmus University Rotterdam has also signed the SDG Charter and thereby endorses the Charter’s goal to develop an ambitious, positive agenda with respect to the SDG’s.
In 2018 the EUR came in seventh place in the SustainaBul. This ranking is yearly developed by Studenten voor Morgen (‘Students for Tomorrow’). Dutch higher education institutions fill in a survey that incorporates questions regarding sustainability in education, research, operations and the integral approach. With the SustainaBul, Studenten voor Morgen try to achieve a more sustainable higher education sector.
