Advancing Social Equity in Academia
Like all major institutions, advancing social equity and gender equality is a key aim for Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). To continue advancing these aims, EUR held the event: ‘Advancing Social Equity in Academia (ASEiA)”.
ASEiA brought together thought leaders from business, government and academia who successfully furthered social equity within their organisations; and promoted discussion on a range of important themes of social equity, minimising the gender gap and promoting innovation through diverse and inclusive environments.
Alongside, these key speakers, Rector Magnificus of EUR, Rutger Engels and Chief Diversity Officer, Semiha Denktas unveiled EUR’s comprehensive policy measure to support the progression of female talent, 25/25. An innovative approach that supports the long term sustainability and quality of EUR’ academic leadership.
ASEiA underlined the importance that diversity and inclusion have to EUR remaining as a top tier academic organisation as well as furthering its social impact. It also elaborated how members of our community and beyond can become enhancers of inclusiveness whether in academia, business, government, or wider society.
