The Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet collection consists of over 250,000 books and journals on history, philosophy, politics, theology, art and art history, literature, music, architecture and associated academic disciplines. The collection is continuously expanded and updated.
Many novels are included in the collection, particularly in Dutch, English, French and German. The Leeskabinet also has biographies, thrillers and travel guides.
You will also find a varied collection of journals with titles in the fields of art, culture, and science.
With this extensive collection focusing on the humanities, the Leeskabinet complements the University Library collection. This way, the Leeskabinet offers in-depth knowledge to our members and EUR students and staff.
New acquisitions are on display in the reading room. These can be reserved. New books are added on a weekly basis.
Every quarter, the Leeskabinet publishes a list of acquisitions containing the titles that have been purchased in that period.
Reading Without Borders
In our Reading Without Borders collection, we collect international fiction in English. We thus offer our readers the unique opportunity to learn about each other's cultural background through literature. You will find this collection in the Leeskabinet under call number 90.55.
