Around six times a year, the Leeskabinet organises an interesting lecture relating to culture, society and science. At least one of these is a literary lecture in which a Dutch author talks about his or her own work. Our lectures are topical and inspiring; the Leeskabinet likes to provide food for thought. Over the past year, we hosted speakers like Frits van Oostrom and Jan Brokken, and we already have an interesting programme for the coming season. The Leeskabinet also organises excursions to libraries and museums.

Members of the Leeskabinet receive an invitation to each lecture. Furthermore, lectures and other activities are announced on the website, in the newsletter, and on Facebook and Twitter.

Our lectures are held on Erasmus University campus or at other venues in Rotterdam. Lectures are generally free; occasionally, we charge admission. In that case, members receive a discount.

As member of the Leeskabinet, you also receive a discount for the literary evenings of Boek & Meester.
