Co-creating student-centered learning journeys for academic and professional skills

  • In line with the university’s aim to educate students to act as a gamechanger and initiate solutions to complex social problems, the teaching goal of ESHPM is getting students to formulate solutions to healthcare and health policy related problems. With education seeking to contribute to complex societal problems and striving for impact, students need to accumulate a set of skills and knowledge. But what are the necessary academic and professional skills to contribute to improving of healthcare? And how can we embed this in our curriculum? This will be the focus. Our goal is to design learning journeys with students for students. These learning journeys will give students an active role, put their competence development central, and closely connect this with personalized learning goals accounting for the diversity of students’ backgrounds, learning styles and career objectives.
