An English B2.2 course consists of ten weekly sessions of 3 hours each. The final exam takes place after the course on a predetermined date (see schedule below). One course level will have been covered by the end of this course.

What will you learn?

This English for academic purposes course is a continuation of the course English B2.1.  The main aim of this course is to equip participants with skills so that they can function quite confidently when using English in mostly, but not exclusively, academic situations. The course covers all major skills. They are:

  • listening;
  • speaking- discussing, debating and giving presentations on a wide variety of subjects;
  • reading & comprehension;
  • writing- essays, reports analysing graphs, application letters and Curriculum Vitae;
  • critical thinking;
  • grammar;
  • vocabulary.

Besides, further improving the acquired knowledge of grammatical structures, you will also focus on expanding your vocabulary. By the end of this course, you will have learned to communicate in various situations. This course can be described as a blended learning course. The final level of the course is B2.2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

I believe that I am much more confident in English now due to the lessons. This will help me in my entire life so I am very grateful for that.
One of the most valuable things is that this course inspired me with a new vision in English learning. When I studied English in high school in China, passing the exam was the only purpose for most Chinese students, so most of us mainly focused on the reading part. After this course, I realize that any language is virtually a communicating skill, and the ultimate purpose of learning an language should be to use it freely.
