Content of the test

The English level test for ESSB consist of three parts:

1. Online Quick Placement Test (maximum 90 minutes)
2. Writing assignment (45 minutes)
3. Oral test - interview with an English teacher (10 minutes)

Results

The results of the test is a score based on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference. Level C1.1 is required for admission to a ESSB-Master.

Enrolment

The LTC offers an English assessment for potential ESSB-students twice a year: 9 May and 12 June. The next assessment takes place on:

You can register for an English assessment for ESSB-students through the schedule and select one of the available timeslots. Click on the date to reach this schedule. Please note that the schedule is only visible during the period in which you are able to register.

After choosing a time slot of your choice, you will need to register and pay for this assessment via the webshop. Only if you can't pay via the webshop (iDeal), you should pay via the ESSC desk of Erasmus University, which is located in the E-building. After reservation and payment, you will be informed about the locations of the test by email in the week before the test will take place.

Please note that dyslectic students can get extra time to complete the written test. To arrange this, you need to contact the LTC via email (ltc@eur.nl) before the deadline of registration. You will also have to send a copy of your official statement of special needs.
