  • Some postal zones in Rotterdam require you to submit a permit of residence for municipal registration, also known as HVV. Moreover, note that since March 2019 a municipal law authorizes the municipality to request a police clearance if you wish to rent in certain streets. Unfortunately, the One Stop Shops do not allow for registration with HVV. However, the Erasmus University facilitates a special registration session with HVV documentation for Erasmus students at the City Hall.

    These will take place on:

    • 3 September 2019;
    • 13 September 2019 ;
    • 4 October 2019

    From 13.00 -16.00 @ City Hall Rotterdam

    If you want to know whether your live in a street or neighborhood that requires additional documentation, do the postal code check.

    During your City Hall visit, your police clearance and BSN number will be issued. However, make sure to bring all before mentioned required documents to your appointment, plus:

    -The filled out HVV forms (part 1 and part 2);

    -A statement of admission/enrolment from your University.

    Without these, you won’t get registered!

    To register for an HVV appointment at City Hall, make an appointment for Registration City Hall HVV at the orientation pageIf you cannot sign up for City Hall registration with HVV yet, this means the event will take place over three months from now causing the registration to be still closed. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
